Our Team

At Rooted Montessori Community, we are more than a staff—we are a community of believers called to a sacred mission. While our team is united by a shared faith in Christ and a commitment to one another, our doors and hearts are open to all. We strive to serve every child and family with excellence and love, regardless of their personal faith or background. We believe every child is "wonderfully made," and it is our greatest joy to partner with our families as we grow together.

    Infant Lead & Director

I have always been a builder. For a decade, I worked in medical architecture, master-planning spaces designed for healing and precision. But my life’s work took a profound shift when my oldest son turned four and stepped into his first Montessori classroom. In that beautiful, orderly space, I didn't just see a school; I saw a child being honored as a divine masterpiece.

That spark led to an intentional eight-year season of 'tending the soil' at home. I homeschooled my four children and spent many hours volunteering in their Montessori classrooms, trading architectural blueprints for the quiet, sacred work of observing how children truly grow. It was here that I realized my background in architecture and my heart for the Montessori method were two sides of the same coin: both believe that a life is only as strong as the foundation it’s built upon.

To ground my passion in professional mastery, I trained under an AMI trainer who received her training from Silvana Montanaro and Maria Montessori in Rome, inheriting a direct lineage of Montessori practice. Following five years as a Lead Guide and two years in school leadership, I felt a calling to create something more—a sanctuary where the 0–6 window is protected with both scientific excellence and Christian grace.

My faith in Christ is the root of everything I do. It convicts me of our deep need for authentic community—the kind where we are truly seen and built up. At Rooted, I want you to find a 'home away from home,' an open sanctuary where every child is treated as a unique image-bearer of God.

When I’m not at the school, my life is a beautiful, busy mix of family and the outdoors. You’ll usually find me at a rink—our family life involves a lot of hockey, hockey, and more hockey—balanced with theater, music, and the arts. I find my peace in the garden, working with native landscaping, building small projects around the house, or hiking a quiet trail, always in awe of the way God provides the growth when we simply take care of the soil.

I am so honored to walk alongside your family as we support the strong, healthy, and secure roots of your child’s life.

    Rose Barta

    Toddler Lead & Director

Hello! I’m Rose Barta, and I’m so excited to be a part of the Rooted Montessori Community. I’ve been an educator now for 6 years at a Montessori school, and before that, worked with college students in leadership development. I truly think there is nothing more significant than investing my time in the lives of little children. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, as well as a Montessori MACTE certification from Child Alive.

I’m passionate about creating child-centered learning spaces that are curated to fit the developmental needs of each child and that foster curiosity and independence. I believe any child can flourish with the right environment and loving supportive adults in their lives. When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with friends and family, woodworking, creating beautiful things, and enjoying the outdoors with my husband and three kids.
